The current exhibition on show in the stunning surrounding of Blackpool's Grundy Art Gallery is The Blackpool Art Fair 2011, which is due to finish on 14 January 2012. The biannual art exhibition celebrates all things associated with Blackpool and its community, drawing on talents from the length and breadth of the Fylde Coast and beyond. The fair features contributions by many creative forces found locally including Blackpool Model Village and Blackpool Art Society, in addition to 120 works produced by local artists.

MANCHESTER:
It's the final week for the stunning Ford Madox Brown exhibition featuring at Manchester Art Gallery. The exhibitions collates over 140 works, including the epic paintings 'Work' and 'Last of England' as well as lesser known sketches, cartoons and paintings. It is a comprehensive look at one of the pioneers of the Pre-Raphaelite movement, incorporating Brown's brief flirtation with design and William Morriss' Arts and Crafts Moevment, and culminating in the murals he painted for Manchester Town Hall. The exhibition finishes on the 29 January 2012.

Also showing at Manchester Art Gallery is the Under That Cloud exhibition, until 15 April 2012.The exhibition of jewellery by 18 international artists was inspired by being stranded together in Mexico City, April 2010, by the effects of the Icleandic ash volcanic cloud. The experience allowed the artists the chance to experience the vibrant culture of Mexico and transfer this energy, and the chaos around them, into their work.

Currently on show at the Harris Museum and Art Gallery is the Shepherd Library at 250, marking the anniversary of the legacy of books benefacter Dr Richard Shepherd left donated to the museum. To commemorate this fine colelction the Harris will be displaying
rare books around the site. These books are on display until May 26th 2012, so there's still plenty of chance to catch a glimpse.
